The process of lapping and polishing ceramics is essential to give each tile a smooth and soft surface. To optimize this process, it is essential to maximize productivity and, at the same time, reduce the cost per square meter.

This priority is shared by all ceramic companies: to achieve these goals, the Premier satellite is an efficient and safe alternative to Fickert.

More and more companies are choosing the satellite for their lines: as of July 17, 2020, the PREMIER satellite has taken over the Ancora lapping line in Monocibec, a major ceramic of the Fincibec Group.

How the Ancora line works in Monocibec

The Ancora line in Monocibec consists of 2 decks of 12 heads each and mainly processes 600×1200, 1200×1200 and 1200×2600 sizes on dry grit. Four Premier satellite heads are mounted here.

Confirming expectations, the explosive input of kinetic energy generated by PREMIER satellite heads induced an immediate increase in productivity, especially in dark colors. In addition, the quality of PREMIER technologies to produce diamond tools with new resinoid binders generated obvious cost reductions.

The lines equipped with Fickert heads, have typical problems, such as the so-called "feed" or "machining mark," which the satellite is able to cancel, for this reason, Mr. Franco Ferroni, Monocibec's technical director, led the innovation by promoting the installation of 4 PREMIER satellite heads and immediately obtaining a significantly superior finish and an obvious cost reduction.

With the satellite it is possible to eliminate the machining mark, that is, that "spider web" of marks left by the fickert . These marks are generated because the fickert, as is known, develops simple motions, with a trajectory perfectly visible to the human eye. In contrast, the trajectory of the PREMIER satellite is complex and crisscrossed, thus resulting in undetectable.

In addition, a much more natural and transparent gloss can be achieved with satellite. Even with the same gloss, the pattern and colors of the tile polished with satellite are deeper and more natural.
