So many different styles, so many different colors: also for this 2020 Ceramics of Italy has compiled its list of trends to look out for this season. From darker to lighter colors, from ethnic to "nature" patterns, here are 6 trends that will not go unnoticed in the coming months.

Nature

The first trend is nature-inspired: tiles with large touches of greenery, plants and flowers help enhance the perception of space and, for this reason, are popular with architects and designers.

The perception they offer is a sense of peace and tranquility; after all, indoor plants also have the same effect. Perfect for enriching a room such as the bathroom.

Geometric

Geometric is coming back strongly in vogue for this season. Geometric tiles are widely used and have found their way into many historical architectures. To find traces of them, you only need to look at the floors of ancient churches, such as Florence Cathedral.

While having an important historicity, the geometric pattern is very current and is ideal for creating combinations with unique visual effects.

Blue

After patterns, it's time to move on to color: blue. Blue is a big player in the 2020 tile trends, as well as being the Pantone color of the year.

Blue communicates great confidence and reliability: this color can be used wisely to recreate a somewhat Mediterranean effect, declined in shades of turquoise. Darker tones, on the other hand, are perfect for adding a touch of energy to a room.

Oxidized effect

Oxidized effect tiles are now an integral part of architecture and design. These tiles reproduce very distinctive shades of color: think, for example, of copper, which takes on those greenish veins as it oxidizes.

This year's collections are full of this particular effect: from oxidized copper to grays, these tones have great personality and go perfectly with modern decor or industrial style.

Texture

The texture effect is a long-running trend now, reproduced again this year with an even more devoted push to the three-dimensional. These particular tiles offer a very special tactile experience, creating surface reliefs that immediately bring dynamism to any room.

Depending on the result you want to achieve, there are different ways to use these tiles: for example, if you are looking for a modern, industrial style, there are tiles that evoke reinforced concrete or laminated concrete.

Traditional material

Tiles can tell or evoke tactile and visual sensations associated with other elements. This is the case with collections inspired by traditional materials, such as rustic tiles reminiscent of a historic estate in Tuscany, to those that reproduce the colors of the desert.

This traditional material is being reinterpreted by manufacturers and used in another context, with coatings that can be employed with a more creative vision.
