Premier takes care about the human development of the company: behind every success there is always a close-knit team that works with passion to achieve a common goal.

For this reason we have decided to talk to the protagonists of Premier, the people who, every day, contribute, with their knowledge and their personalities, to the growth of the company. Today's protagonist is Aldo De Stefani.

Tell us about yourself. What is your role in the Premier and what are your main responsibilities?

Since November 2017 my role in Premier has been technical-commercial manager for South America.
My relationship with Premier began as a customer, approximately in 1998, when I started as the head of the polishing and grinding sector, in ILVA ceramics in Argentina.

At that time, I met Mr. Trevisan who visited us as a supplier 2 or 3 times a year and always kept us updated on the progress of the new systems and technologies in the field.
In 2013 I left ceramics and worked for a couple of years as a production manager in a company dedicated to the production of plastic containers, but my relationship with Trevisan has never stopped.
In 2016, I returned to the ceramic industry where I first dealt with a start-up project for a new lapping and grinding line and then, in 2017, I started a collaboration with PREMIER.

How was your passion born? What's your school background?

My professional orientation has always been mechanics, I studied at the industrial school and I graduated as a mechanical technician. I started working as a technical designer to pay for my studies, then the Falklands / Malvinas war came and I was called up for the military service for a few years.

When I came back home, I started working as a technical designer in a chemical company and in these 10 years I became manager of the mechanical maintenance.
I then switched to ILVA ceramics and after a few years of work in mechanical maintenance, the owner of the factory chosed me for a new job that would be the polishing of porcelain stoneware and I was sent for the first time to Italy…. And from here, as I said above, my relationship with Trevisan and PREMIER began!!

Why did you choose to work in the Premier? Which aspects of the Premier mission and vision are closest to your way of perceiving work and professional growth?

Since 1998, I have learned to know PREMIER and appreciate it as a bearer of innovations in the sector, over the years we have always kept in touch and when, in 2017, Piergiorgio Trevisan proposed me to join the team, I immediately accepted.

Today I really like my job in Premier, because I have the opportunity to provide experience to the people who are client companies who use our products and personally collaborate in the development of specific products as required by the characteristics of each company.
A fundamental point that has always made me appreciate PREMIER's ability to adapt its products to every need.

Are there any particular anecdotes from your career that have left their mark and that you would like to tell us?

I remember, at the end of the 90s, at ILVA ceramiche, we only had a short polishing line with 28 heads, we started polishing technical porcelain about 1 year earlier. The company quickly obtained a contract to export to the United States, it was necessary to increase production.
To increase productivity, we placed 2 satellite heads at the beginning of the line, but it wasn't still enough.
During a visit, I exposed the problem to Piergiorgio Trevisan and he explained to me that by adjusting the screws on the heads it was possible to make the satellites remove more material and therefore increase productivity.

No sooner said than done, Piergiorgio rolled up the sleeves of his impeccable white shirt and together we made the correct adjustment ... it was a fight against time, because that afternoon he had the plane to come back Italy.

We worked in record time and Piergiorgio left almost without washing his hands and with his white shirt irremediably compromised ... but he didn't miss the plane!!

Stop talking about work ... Do you have any hobbies and special interests? What do you like to do when you are not in the Premier?

When I was a child I played a lot of football, then I played tennis and at the age of 40 I found the sport I liked and I was passionate about for many years "cycling"; this passion led me to train a lot and with great sacrifice because after work there was little time to pedal, many times I trained at night with the danger it entails and then on Saturday or Sunday to run a race.
After 10 years of racing every weekend I got rid of the desire to compete and today I enjoy cycling as a hobby.
