Premier particularly cares about the company's human resources: behind every success there is always a close-knit team working with passion to achieve a common goal.

That's why we decided to give space to Premier's protagonists, the people who contribute with their knowledge and personalities to the company's growth every day. Today's protagonist is Mathias Grego.

Premier Diam - Mathias Grego

Tell us about yourself. What is your role in the Premier and what are your main responsibilities?

At Premier, I am responsible for Research and Development and Production of lapping tools.

I am responsible to manage the resin-based tooling production department as well as continuously researching new cutting-edge solutions.

How was your passion born? What's your school background?

Since I was young I have always been interested in scientific and technological subjects and this led me to graduate in 2003 in Materials Engineering at the University of Trento with an experimental thesis on a biopolymer.

My career path at Premier began in 2013, after many years working in other industries, such as metalworking and sporting goods. I took on the challenge for a project that was as complex as it was exciting: to create Premier's ceramic lapping tool.

I learned a lot from experience, thanks to my previous professional experience and a very solid background, particularly in polymeric materials, learned from Professor Amabile Penati, Professor of Science and Technology of Polymeric Materials a student of Mr. Giulio Natta, the only Italian Nobel Prize winner in chemistry.

The thing I like most about my work is that it is very creative: you never get bored working with materials!

Why did you choose to work in the Premier? Which aspects of the Premier mission and vision are closest to your way of perceiving work and professional growth?

Of Premier, I like three things.

  • Passion for innovation. At Premier we do continuous research and development of new products, and a This is in tune with my nature.
  • Our product is 100 percent made in Italy. PREMIER has invested in this lapping tool, through my support as well, always with this proudly domestic production orientation, without following the "fads" of offshoring.
  • The autonomy and the trust that is placed in me. Autonomy has made me grow so much as a professional and as a person; it's something I've never known at this level, and it makes me feel good because it responds to my independent nature.

Are there any particular anecdotes from your career that have left their mark and that you would like to tell us?

Yes, in Premier, I was able to develop the human resources management. I do selection and personnel management of the department's operators. This has enriched me a lot on a personal and professional level.

Stop talking about work ... Do you have any hobbies and special interests? What do you like to do when you are not in the Premier?

I have many interests. I am passionate about sports, reading and traveling. I am a very curious person: I satisfy my curiosity by reading and exploring new places. I like to keep fit: I've always been very sporty. When I was 14 years old I was Italian champion in athletics. Then I dedicated myself to martial arts, becoming black belt 2nd Dan in karate, which helps me a lot in concentrating,

I also have experience in team sports, from basketball to volleyball, this has allowed me to develop the ability to be in a group and also manage it.
