Premier has, for a while, been successfully promoting the use of satellite heads for lapping large formats, because by alternating them with Fickerts, breakages on the edges at entry are eliminated, the degree of gloss is improved and the performance of the tools is increased over the entire line, reducing costs and the amount of waste material, with benefit for the environment.

Edges breakages elimination.
The entry of the slabs is a critical phase, at the presence of geometric irregularities, poor planarity, "raised beaks"; the Fickert head, with its sickle-like movement parallel to the plane of advancement, often breaks the edges of the slab. By inserting some satellite heads in the first positions of the lapping machine, this risk is eliminated, thanks to the rotational movement of the tools and the oblique position compared to the working surface, which allows them to easily overcome even the most irregular and raised edges. With this expedient we obtained ZERO BREAKAGE of the slabs EDGES, c/o important customers such as Florim, Fincibec, Ceramicas Mimas, Lourdes S.A. and many others...
Maximum efficiency.
The combination of the rotational movements of the head and that the tool, allows the satellite to develop a cutting speed three times than the Fickert heads, increasing its efficiency and consequently the productivity of the line. Furthermore, the high working speed of the satellite allows a better use of the abrasives and therefore an increase in the tool-life; this generates two benefits:

- Reduction of the quantity of non-recyclable waste produced on the line.
