What is Satellite Premier?

The Satellite Premier allows a series of processes such as lapping and polishing.

This system has two rotary motions of head and tool which, together with the translating movement of the tiles, greatly improves the uniformity and speed of removal.

Having more efficient heads allows you to achieve a huge benefit: reduce the number of heads dedicated to roughing, allowing a better finish, using finer gritted tools.


Satellite vs Fickert: a comparison

The new requirements of ceramics, increasingly oriented towards hard grits difficult to work with traditional fickert, have generated the "perfect storm" on the Fickert.

When we thought about Satellite, we at Premier were fully aware that the high speed developed by the satellite (the 1,500 revolutions that the tool makes on its axis of rotation) is what really makes the difference in the process.

These turns are transformed into kinetic energy able to TRIPLE the cutting power compared to the "classic" Fickert, finally allowing the diamond to do its work in optimal conditions.

There are also many other points of attention related to the Satellite that you should definitely consider:

  • The smaller contact area compared to the Fickert allows tools to penetrate every trench for a better finish. So you can position the tool to perfectly polish edges, high and low points. The Premier tool can really get anywhere on the surface working evenly, because the contact point is minimal (about 2.5 cm) compared to the Fickert which has a minimum tangency of 10 cm.
  • The diamond satellite is modular, modular with several layers of Velcro or in a single block. The versatility and the modularity of the tool allow to change the position according to the desired degree of flatness.
  • With the same volume removed, it is possible to use finer-grained tools, eliminating coarse-grained ones from the end of the line to obtain tiles without scratches and with a higher degree of gloss.

We can say that, with the Satellite, the eternal dilemma between the unworked edge and peeling the edges (remove too much glaze in the edges and make the support appear) is solved once and for all

The satellite is available with "4 holes" or "Terzago" connection, the grit ranges from 50 to 12,000 and is available in two diameters: 130 or 150 mm.
